Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“Stories for Grandkids”, “we”). By ordering, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can order

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. No account is needed; we send private links by email.

2. Photos and permission

• You may upload a child’s photo only if you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or the child’s parent or legal guardian has agreed. For children who live in Illinois, Texas or Washington, only the child’s parent or legal guardian may upload the photo, through the approval link we email them. You can still order; the book is made once they approve.
• You confirm the photo is yours to share and shows only the child (or family members who agree), fully clothed.
• Upload one photo per child. Don’t upload photos of public figures or children you don’t have permission for.

3. What’s not allowed

No sexual or suggestive content, nudity, violence, hateful content, or anything that harms a child. We use automated filters and human review. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement, and we may cancel any order without a refund if these terms are broken.

4. Our narrow license, your rights

• You give us permission to use what you upload only to make, deliver, print and support your order. Nothing else.
• We never use a child’s photo or likeness for marketing unless the child’s parent signs a separate, optional release, which they can withdraw at any time.
• You get a personal, non-commercial right to keep, print, share with family and enjoy your book and video. We claim no rights in your child’s likeness. The story text and design are ours.

5. AI-generated content

Illustrations and narration are AI-generated, stylized interpretations, not photographs. We aim for a likeness family recognize instantly, and our Likeness Promise below covers you if we miss. Some of our providers’ terms apply to how their tools may be used; you agree not to ask us to make anything those terms prohibit.

6. Prices, payment and promotions

• Pick what you want: PDF storybook $19; read-aloud video $29 (in your own voice or our storyteller’s, same price); Heirloom Hardcover $49 with free shipping to the contiguous US. Any two: $10 off. All three (“The Heirloom Bundle”): $69.
• A brother, sister or cousin in the same story: +$15 per extra child. A separate book of their own for another grandchild: 25% off that book.
• A message in your own voice at the end of every book: included. It’s printed on the last page, and if you record it, it plays at the end of the video. If you don’t record it, the video shows it as words on screen. We never have a computer voice read it.
• After checkout we may offer another grandchild’s book at 25% off. If you accept with one click, we charge the card you just used (Stripe keeps it on file for this) for the price shown, plus any sales tax. If your bank needs to confirm the payment, we send you to a checkout page instead.
• One-time payments; no subscriptions. We calculate every price on our side from what you chose; the total is shown before you pay.
• Sales tax is added where it applies. Promotion codes can be entered at checkout, one per order, and have no cash value.
• Payments are processed by Stripe.

7. Delivery

• Digital books and videos are delivered by private link, usually within a few hours of the face approval (and your recordings, if you read it yourself).
• If your order includes the video, you also get a permanent listen link (and, with the hardcover, a scan-to-listen code printed inside). Anyone with the link or the book can play the video; it shows only first names and the book title. Ask us any time and we’ll switch it off.
• Hardcovers: free shipping to the contiguous United States. We can’t ship hardcovers to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or other countries yet. Order by December 8 for Christmas delivery (we can’t control carrier delays).
• Before printing, you approve the finished book as your proof.

8. Our Likeness Promise (refunds)

• Before you pay: a free preview of the illustrated face, with free re-dos.
• After you order (digital): up to 3 more free re-dos, plus human help within 48 hours. If we still can’t get the likeness right, you get a full refund within 30 days.
• Hardcover: if the printed book is damaged, defective or differs materially from the proof you approved, we reprint it free or refund you. If a likeness problem was visible in the proof you approved, we’ll fix it for free and reprint at our cost.
• If a parent declines, or doesn’t respond within 14 days, we refund that book in full.

9. Disclaimers and limits

Except for our Likeness Promise and where the law doesn’t allow it, the service is provided “as is”, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the order. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Any dispute will be resolved by individual binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Rules, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. No class actions. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@storiesforgrandkids.com within 30 days of your first order.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you order applies to that order.
